Hello-looking to start my collection
« on: May 30, 2010, 11:25:32 pm »
Hi guys, Let me introduce myself. My name is Shane. I've already dove into the world of tube radios, 1940's TV's, kerosene lamps and typewriters. Now I'm interested in BULBS! I'm a young buck (at 23 going on  24) but love this stuff. My biggest interests right now are with tipped types with screw bases....I don't have the really early stuff to plug into so I need a normal socket also, I'd love a Hi-Lo....they fascinate me! I'd like to create some sort of early bulb display with working bulbs no more than 2-3. if you guys have some pointers I'd love to hear them. or bulbs :-P
Thanks,
-Shane-

P.S. If you have any doubts about my sincerity do a search for ff4312 on www.antiqueradios.com
Thanks,
-Shane-

Hi Shane. I know it has been a while since you posted but I collect tubes, radios, jukeboxes and other things. I'm new to light bulbs as well. I'm a member of the radio forum and will give you a shout! Good luck with your collecting.

One good place to start looking is yardsales and auctions.

Hi

Also try fleamarkets (Bootsales if in UK) For example 20 bulbs squirrel cage carbons pip top and 1930,s all worked out to be 1 pound each   that has to be a result. If you go abroad do your homework check out fleamarkets good one in Belgium near centre of town also checkout ebay   Good luck and welcome to forum       Peter
