The Story of the Lamp now online!
« on: August 20, 2000, 11:19:00 pm »
For anyone interested,

I've just uploaded "The Story of the Lamp", a scarce 70 page book by Osram-G.E.C. detailing the early days of Robertson Lamps and the manufacturing processes used at Osram, from the carbon lamp days (pre Osram) to the gasfilled lamp era. This is a great book packed with numerous pictures and valuable information to the collector or historian.

Enjoy!

Tim, it's good of you to share your copy of The Story of the Lamp with the rest of the world. Re the publishing date - the copy sent to the National Lamp Works of the General Electric Company was received on October 30, 1924, so your guess of the early 1920s is right on.

Congratulations, Tim, on another fine addition to this site. This is fascinating reading and it is wonderful to learn about the history and manufacturing of lamps of this era. The pictures are superb too.
I look forward to any further additions to the archives in the future!
