I bought this bulb at an estate sale for a buck...  Oooohh...  I love it when I do that as I find out that they are like more online.  I am thinking of selling it as I see that it has been hitting the $160 mark online..

Seems like it might have a halogen capsule inside, because of the warning about UV if the outer bulb is broken.
(such capsules are made out of fused silica to withstand the heat because of the close proximity to the filament, but such a material also allows UV to pass through)

I am guessing the lamp is probably rated to last 2000-3000 hours, sometimes up to 5000 hours.

If I read the box right, that's a 160W self ballasted Mercury Vapor bulb.
