Balafire Bulb & Electric Flame (Kyp-Go)
« on: May 06, 2007, 08:47:29 pm »
Just thought I'd let everyone know that I have created a website for my Uncle (Robert Kyp) in hopes of highlighting his Balafire Bulb (patented), the Electric Filame, and other Carbon Filament Bulbs he makes.  At 84 (soon to be 85), he still hand makes all of the filaments used in the bulbs.  The Balafire & Electric Flame are hand assembled and tested by him.  I believe hhe is the "only" manufacturer of Carbon Filaments in the US.... if someone knows of another manufacturer, I'd like to know.  Don't hold the design of the website against him -- it's my first and a little amateurish, hopefully it will improve (www.kyp-go.com).  FYI, the hurricane lamps shown on the homepage contain Balafire Bulbs on a motion detector and look great.  Check the site from time to time for improvements -- as I learn more, I will be changing it up ....
