Cunningham Audiotrons

(1/1)

Dylan:
I just recently got an old Cunningham Audiotron, and I'd like to know more about it. Here are my questions:
1. How many were ever produced, and were they all done illegally?
2. Is there any way to fix a grid-to-plate short? Since the grid is only held by one support, it came into contact with the plate at one time. If I can fix this, I'll have a perfectly good Audiotron.

thanks for any help on this subject.

Tim:
Hi Dylan,

Nice early radio tube!  There's been a lot written on early tube history and I would suggest picking up a copy of Tyne's SAGA OF THE VACUUM TUBE.  If tube history of interest to you then this title should be on your bookshelf and you can read up on the Audiotron.

For a "quick fix" here's some interesting reading for you:

Thanks for the quick reply, Tim!
I'll see if I can get my hands on that book. I've heard of it before and it sounds like a good one! The information on that link that you posted is about all I could find on the tube.
