Title: Westinghouse Bulb
Post by: gdnl on August 02, 2001, 04:55:00 pm
I'm a newbie and have this bulb I would like any info possible on.  The sticker on the outside says Westinghouse 40 watts 115 volts.  There is also an etching of a W and the word MAZDA on it.  Inside it is a single filament with 5 loops.  The glass center piece has 415 molded into it.  I can't figure out how to add the pic in here but can email it if someone can help identify this bulb.

Thanks

To give you a date range...
The Mazda service mark was used by several bulb manufacturers from about 1909 to 1945 on the new (back then) tungsten filament bulbs.
If your bulb has an exhaust tip on top, it is probably from about 1910 - 1920. Mass production of tipless bulbs started from about the mid 1920's onward.
