There is an internet outfit selling old stock G.E. Merry Midget mini bulbs. They have several types, the bi pin base style in 12 volt for 12 light decorative sets and also a wedge base type for 20 light sets.
Go to http://www.thecollegetoolbox.com/geelli.html
for the main page showing various G.E. bulbs.

for 12 volt multi color bulbs. (12 volt yellow are now sold out)
These bi pin base bulbs are very hard to find. The price is great too!

Wow, that takes me back about 35 years! Anyone remember the midget bases shown here? As a little kid during the 70s I remember the round bi-pin bases being difficult to change in and out of a light string. I remember finding replacements in the store were difficult too. I think the wedge base eventually replaced the bi-pin for good?
Great memories!

I've found the best way to get information on these modern era mini sets is to examine the photos and descriptions in various ebay auctions.
From what I've read, information is hard to come by because most of these sets were imported and manufacturing records are hard to find.
The 2 bi pin bases at right may be from NOMA sets sold in the 1960s.
